Hey, Czechs! by David Van

A short documentary film captures feelings of fear as well as absurd humor during a humanitarian mission in Ukraine, seen through the eyes of someone encountering war for the first time. Through a personal perspective, it reveals not only the weight of a crisis situation but also unexpected moments of humanity.

Hey, Czechs! was created during the missions of the organization Memory of Nations, which delivered medical supplies to the Ukrainian army. During these missions, the director was able to observe the work of humanitarian workers and visit areas heavily affected by the war. These images became the foundation of the film, which brings viewers the atmosphere of life in city streets, devastated villages, and the moods of local residents and soldiers.
